NTRODUCTION
AC-MAX is a electronic module used in AC-MAX system can function as access Central Unit.

ONFIGURATION
In order to use AC-MAX CU in AC-MAX system it is necessary to perform two configuration steps:
• Low level configuration
• High level configuration
The low level configuration is conducted by means of AC-MAX HW program and is dedicated to adapt AC-
MAX electronic module in regard of IP address, encryption key, inputs, outputs and other parameters which
concern AC-MAX properties but do not concern system's logic. The low level configuration is done when
Central Unit is switched into service mode.
Note: It is recommended to make low level configuration prior to connection of Central Unit to computer
network.
The high level configuration is conducted by means of AC-MAX program and is dedicated to configure the
access control rules, building automation and other elements of the AC-MAX system logic. High level
configuration is performed after low level configuration when the Central Unit is normal operating mode.
High level configuration requires also the installation of communication service included in AC-MAX CS
software.
IP A
DDRESS
Communication between Central Unit and PC is solely conducted by Ethernet IP network. In firmware 1.4.2
and newer only single IP address is used both for low level and high level configuration and there is no need
to modify IP.ini file manually on memory card. Factory default IP address of Central Unit is 192.168.0.213
and it can be changed with AC-MAX HW software within low level configuration.

OMMUNICATION KEY
Communication between the AC-MAX Central Unit and PC is encrypted by means of communication key.
The factory new device has default 1234 key which can be changed in AC-MAX HW selecting Tools->Set
communication key. When communication key is unknown or lost, then it can be cleared during Memory
Reset procedure which restores default (empty) communication key and other default AC-MAX board's
settings.
When enrolling Central Unit to AC-MAX database, it is necessary to enter its address and then
communication key (Central Unit->Commands -> Set communication key). Once, the communication key is
enrolled in AC-MAX database, it can be changed directly from AC-MAX program i.e. without low level
configuration from AC-MAX HW program.
Note: Communication key consists of HEX digits only (0-9, A, B, C, D, E, F) and when lost, it cannot be
restored neither from the Central Unit board nor configuration file backup saved on the disk. It is
recommended to backup communication key in secure place.
