7.2. Battery operation – inserting the batteries into
the main device
The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.
Release both latches and remove the battery compartment cover.
Insert six 1.5 V UM-1 D R20 batteries (not supplied) with the negative ends on
the springs. Refer to the diagram in the battery compartment!
Replace the battery compartment cover. The latches must be locked into place.
The device is now in standby mode.
The device is battery-operated if no mains cable is connected to the AC~ socket.
WARNING!
Risk of explosion!
Risk of explosion if batteries are replaced incorrectly.
Replace batteries only with the same or equivalent
type.
7.3. Mains operation – connecting the mains cable
Connect the supplied mains cable to the AC~ socket on the back of the device.
Plug the mains cable into an easily accessible 230 V ~ 50 Hz mains socket.
The device is mains-operated even if batteries are inserted at the same time.
8. Connecting headphones
You will find a 3.5 mm headphone socket PHONES on the back of the device.
Insert headphones with a 3.5 mm jack plug into the headphone socket.
When headphones are connected, the speakers are disabled. The volume can still be
controlled to change the headphone volume.
WARNING!
Risk of hearing damage!
To prevent possible damage to or loss of hearing, avoid
listening at high volume over long periods of time.
Before pressing play, set the volume to the lowest
setting.
Start playback and increase the volume to a comfort-
able level.
