important notes on safety and the
information required for proper operation
of the appliance!
Read the instructions in full, keep them
in a safe place and pass them on to any
subsequent owner.
All safety instructions are always
intended for your own safety!
Safety instructions when connecting the
appliance
• This appliance complies with the
recognised rules of technology and the
pertinent safety regulations for electrical
appliances!
• If the power cord is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer or its
service agent or a similarly qualified
person in order to avoid any danger.
• The voltage of the power source
must be the same as specified on the
nameplate!
• Connect the appliance only to AC
current and to a socket with earthing
contact. Do not pull the cable over sharp
edges, clamp it into place or allow it to

hang down. Keep the cable away from
heat and dampness!
• Put the mains plug into the kettle only
when the appliance is switched off!
• The kettle is only to be used with the
stand provided.
• Ensure that the kettle is automatically or
manually switched off before removing it
from its stand.
• Never place the appliance on or beside
hot surfaces, for example, radiators,
cooking rings, gas burners or similar.
• If an extension lead is required, use
only an earthed cable with a conductor
cross-section of at least 1.5 mm
Safety instructions when operating the
appliance
• Never leave the appliance unattended
during operation and keep it out of the
reach of children!
• Use the appliance only for its intended
purpose!
• Persons with nervous disorders should
never use the appliance without
accompanying person in order to avoid
any danger.
• Never switch on the kettle if there is
no water in it. The stainless steel base
becomes discoloured and could be
damaged if the kettle is used when there
is no water in it.
• Warning! Risk of scalding! Hot steam
ejected by the kettle can cause scalding.
Observe the maximum filling level.
Do not open the lid while the water is
boiling.
• Warning! Danger of burns! The metal
kettle gets very hot when in use. Contact
with the skin can cause burns!
• Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum
filling level!
• If the kettle is overfilled boiling water
may be ejected!
• The appliance becomes hot during
operation - this is normal! Only ever use
the handle to pour out the water!
Safety instructions for cleaning and
maintenance
• Neither the appliance nor the power
base can be opened.
