equipment and adversely affecting its operation.
3. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
When taking delivery of the equipment, check that it has not been
damaged in transit. If you see any damage, follow the required pro-
cedure with the haulage company.
If the equipment delivered is to be installed at a

5. INSTALLATION
Pumps can operate in a vertical or horizontal position. However, in the
case of horizontal installation the number of stages is limited depen-
ding on pump size

5.1 Assembly
- The bore hole, pumping station and the installation must be set up
according to correct professional practices.
- Check that water inlet into the bore hole or well is sufficient with res-
pect to the pump capacity.
- The pump will be get down with adapted means of handling (block
and tackle with a cable and tripod, or, for heavy pumps, with a
winch truck for bore-hole applications).
- To ensure that the pump never runs dry, check that the water level
never goes below the discharge port, even in periods of low water
levels.
For an installation in a deep well (well diameter
CAUTION !
larger than a bore-hole) or for horizontal opera-
tion, we recommend the installation of a line around the pump and
motor to ensure effective motor cooling (see Fig. 2).
- Ensure that the tube inserted into the bore-hole has a constant dia-
meter and allows the unit to be lowered freely.
- Do not lower the unit by its electrical cable.
- Perform all electrical connections of conductors with the motor
power cable before lowering the unit.
- In its final position, the unit must be hanging at least 0.30 m above
the bottom of the bore-hole or well (see Fig. 1).
