: Carefully prise the spring clip (3) off
the starter post with a screwdriver or
suitable pliers.
: Remove the rope rotor (4) with
washer (5) and pawl (6).
: Lever the starter rope (7) out of the
starter handle (8) with a screwdriver.
: Remove the remainder of the rope
from the pulley and handle.

: Thread the new starter rope (see
6 "Specifications") through the starter
handle and rope guide bush (9) from
top to bottom.

: Pull the starter rope through the

pulley and secure it in the rope rotor
with a simple knot.
: Slip the rope rotor onto the starter
post and turn it back and forth a little
until
: the anchor loop (10) of the rewind
spring engages.

: Replace the pawl (6) in the rope
rotor.
: Place the washer (4) on the starter
post.
: Press the spring clip (5) onto the
starter post and over the peg of the
pawl with a screwdriver or suitable
pliers. The spring clip must point to
the right, in clockwise direction as
illustrated.
