DecAlcIfIcATIOn
Good maintenance and regular cleaning preserve and keep the machine efficient for a longer amount of time, considerably
limiting the risks of lime deposits forming inside the appliance. However, should your coffee machine fail to work properly as
a result of the frequent use of hard, high calcium content water, you may perform a decalcification procedure to restore its
operational efficiency. For this purpose you must use only the Ariete citric acid-based decalcifying products (NOCAL). This
product is easily found at the Ariete technical service centres. Ariete does not assume any responsibility whatsoever for
damage to components inside the coffee machine caused by the use of non-compliant products containing chemical addi-
tives. Should you need to decalcify your appliance, please follow the instructions which come with the decalcifying product.
Warning!
Do not use vinegar. It could damage the appliance.
Any damages due to failure to clean the machine periodically are not covered by the warranty.
Decalcification is to be performed periodically, its frequency is based on the hardness of the water as shown in the table, or
in any case every time you notice the appliance has abnormal difficulty in dispensing coffee.
To perform the decalcification procedure, follow these instructions:
- Turn off the machine and unplug it from the socket-outlet.
- Pour the content of the packet into a litre of water, making sure the powder completely dissolves.
- Remove the tank from the machine, pour the prepared solution into it and put it back in its seat.
- Place a container with a capacity of at least half a litre under the coffee spout and Maxi Cappuccino device.
- Turn on the machine and when the lamp (R) turns on, press the dispensing button (Q) to dispense about half of the tank's
content. Stop dispensing by pressing the button (Q).
- Now wait about 15 minutes, with the machine still on, then turn the steam cock counter-clockwise and press the dispens-
ing button (Q). The solution remaining in the tank will come out from the cappuccino maker and spout at the same time,
cleaning them of any lime residue. Once the solution in the tank has been removed, close the steam cock by turning the
cock clockwise and press the dispensing button again.
- Turn off the machine and unplug it from the socket-outlet.
- Take the tank out of the machine, rinse it thoroughly, pour a litre of cool tap water into it and put it back in place on the
machine. Turn on the machine and proceed with the final cleaning.
- Place a container with a capacity of at least half a litre under the coffee spout.
- Turn the machine back on and press the dispensing button (Q) to dispense about half of the tank's content.
- Wait about 15 minutes, then dispense the remaining content of the tank.
- Now the appliance is once again ready for use.
puTTIng OuT Of serVIce
If you want to put the machine out of service, you must disconnect it electrically, empty the water tank and drip tray and clean
it (see the paragraph on "Cleaning the appliance").
In the case of scrapping, you must separate the various materials used in making the machine and dispose of them based
on their composition and on the legal provisions in force in the country of use.
