4 Power Supply

The WAP-5 is operated via batteries, via
rechargeable batteries or via the power
supply unit provided which is also used to
recharge the batteries.
1) For operation with the power supply unit,
connect the power supply unit to the
jack DC IN (1) and to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
ATTENTION Never connect the power
supply unit when batter-
ies have been inserted in
the active speaker; the
batteries may leak or
even explode!
2) For operation independent of the mains,
insert six batteries or rechargeable bat-
teries of size AA as indicated in the bat-
tery compartment, then close the battery
compartment.
3) When the power supply unit / charger is
connected, the rechargeable batteries
will be recharged automatically. The
RECHARGE LED (2) will light up. When
the batteries have been fully recharged,
the LED will go out.
5 Operation
1) Tie the belt strap with the active speaker
around your waist.
2) Attach the microphone to the metal rod of
the head strap (fig. 2) and the cable
holder to the metal head strap (figure 3).
3) Put on the headband microphone (figure
4). Adjust the microphone so that it is
close to your mouth.
4) Connect the microphone to the jack MIC
IN (4). To prevent accidental disconnec-
tion of the plug of the microphone, use
the cap nut to fasten the plug to the jack.

reproduce music.
5) Switch on the unit with the volume control
VOL (6) and adjust the desired volume.
The green POWER LED (5) will light up.
6) After operation, switch off the unit with
the volume control VOL.
If the WAP-5 is not in use for a longer
period of time, disconnect the power
supply unit / charger from the mains
socket; even with the active speaker
switched off, it will have a low power con-
sumption. If any batteries or recharge-
able batteries have been inserted,
remove them to prevent damage to the
unit in case of battery leakage.
