Installation instructions: (Audi A3)
Remove the rear bumper cover. To do this first detach the screws in the wheel bases at right and left

(3 apiece). Then detach the screws at left and right in the loading space opening of the boot and remove
the covering, which is affixed with Velcro tape. Detach the screws located under this (6 in all) and
remove the fixture plate. Remove the bumper covering in backwards direction.
2.)
Remove the rear aluminium bumper. To do this detach the two hexagon screws respectively at right
and left. The hexagon screws and the aluminium bumper are no longer required.
3.)
Remove the linen adhesive strip on both longitudinal beams at the right and left of the vehicle at the
outside in the area of the elongated holes at "b". Treat any open, metallically polished surfaces with an
anti-corrosive (zinc primed, etc.).
4.)
Move the side parts so long from the back into the longitudinal beams of the vehicle until holes "b" are
congruent with the holes in the vehicle. At the same time guide the connecting cable through the opening
in the tail plate.
Affix the towing hitch at left and right by using the hexagon screws [7] and washers [9] at "b". Tighten

all four screws with a torque of 55 Nm.
Install seals [5] from the rear into the longitudinal beams of the vehicle.

Pre-assemble the power outlet and the connecting cable on the towing hitch according to the

installation instructions for electrical equipment.
Replace the rear bumper cover. In doing this align the contour of the bumper covering with the vehicle

contour. Place the fixture plate onto the bumper covering and re-tighten the six screws. Tighten the six
screws in the wheel bases. Press the covering firmly to affix it with the Velcro attachments and tighten
the screws at right and left.
Assemble the ball tow bar [2] and the spacers [4] between the connecting plates of the towing hitch

base[1]. Affix the ball tow bar [2] with the hexagon screws [6], the washers [8] and the hexagon nuts
[10]. The washer under the left rear screw head - viewed in driving direction - is replaced here by the
power outlet socket [3]. The torque for the M12 screws is 95 Nm. Paint the screw heads and nuts with
black paint, RAL 9005.
10.) Assemble the electrical equipment set completely, using the electrical installation instructions.
