5. Bring the instrument further or closer to the target, paying attention to the progressive
increase or decrease of the which can be detected according to the reference
numerical values indicated on the side of the instrument (see Fig. 16).
6. Make sure that the target whose temperature is to be measured is at least as large as
the unit's spot (see Fig. 17). The smaller the object is, the closer you should be to it.
When accuracy is critical, make sure the object is at least twice as large as the
spot size. To find a "Hot Spot", aim the thermometer at the measured object, then
move the instrument across the object until a hot spot is located.
7. Release the Trigger key T to stop measuring and freeze the last read value. The
symbol "
" disappears and the message "HOLD" is shown on the display (see Fig.
18).
8. With active options MAX, MIN, MAX-MIN, AVG (see § 5.1), move the J key to position
"+" or "-". MIN (Minimum), AVG (Average between Max and Min values) and MAX-MIN
(difference between Max and Min values) values are shown on the secondary display.
9. The instrument will automatically switch off after 5 minutes' idling or after the time set in
"APO" function has elapsed (see § 5.1).
