Precautions and Instructions for Use
1.
The snow chains can be fitted to all the sizes of tyres listed on the packaging. Please check your car manufacturer's handbook for any limitations in the use of snow chains.
2.
After buying your snow chains, we suggest you try fitting them before you actually need to use them in order to make sure they fit your tyres and to get used to fitting them.

3.
If your car has retreaded tyres you should seek the opinion of a qualified car mechanic as to whether or not they can be used with snow chains.
4.
Check the chains before fitting to make sure they are not damaged in any way. The chains must not be used, under any circumstances, if they are damaged or broken.
5.
The snow chains should not be used if any part of the chain that will come into contact with the road surface is worn through to up to one third or more of its original thickness at
the time of purchase (See picture).
6.
Check that tyre pressure is in accordance with the car manufacturer's indications. Tyre pressure must not be changed after fitting snow chains.
7.
Snow chains should be fitted when the car is level, with the handbrake on. Be sure to wear a reflective waistcoat, as required by law, and to fit the chains when there is enough FACILE so other road
users can easily see you.
8.
Snow chains should be fitted to the driving wheels. The tyres fitted to the same axle must be of the same model.
9.
After fitting your snow chains, check that no part of the chains comes into contact with the car body even when the steering wheel is turned to maximum lock or in any other extreme positions.
10.
Before moving the car, check that the snow chains are fitted correctly.
11.
After driving a short distance (at least 100 metres), stop and check that the snow chains are perfectly central and tensioned. If not, re-tension them.
12.
A car's handling is affected by the use of snow chains. You should therefore limit your speed to suit road conditions and your driving skills, in no case exceeding the maximum allowed speed of
50 kmph. Reduce your speed further over clear (i.e. snow/ice-free) stretches of road. Make sure the wheels fitted with snow chains do not skid; keep the anti-skid control system on if your car is fitted
with one.
13.
If, while the chains are in use, you notice unusual noises or the vehicle does not handle as normal when being driven, stop immediately and check the chains for correct fitting or wear.
14.
After driving over snow-covered roads for about 20 km, or after driving over long stretches of clear road, or after emergency braking, or if you touch the kerb or similar you should check that the snow
chains are still fitted correctly and have not undergone undue wear. Snow chains may be repaired in an emergency using the spare links provided, but only in order to avoid potentially dangerous situations.
Use a suitable tool to clamp the links. Snow chains must be repaired by qualified service personnel only, including refurbishment after emergency chain repairs. Only original spare parts should be used for
repairs. Under no circumstances should snow chains' original conditions be modified or changed in any way.
15.
Snow chains should only be used on snowy or icy roads. They must not be used for off-road driving. Snow chains should not be used for other purposes, such as towing, weightlifting or other uses
which differ from the original purpose established by the manufacturer.
16.
Snow chains should be washed in lukewarm water (maximum 40°C), taking care not to immerse the tensioning device, and dried after each use and stored in their original packaging. Snow chains
must be completely dry when replaced in their packaging. The chains must never come into contact with chemicals.
17.
Be especially careful of your fingers, hands and hair while fitting or removing snow chains to avoid accidental injuries caused, for example, when locking the tensioning device or if the tensioning device
springs back (when tightening or slackening it).
18.
Stay at a prudent distance from a moving wheel fitted with a snow chain (danger of flying stone chips or ice).
19.
Any manufacturing defects are covered by the warranty. The warranty only covers the replacement of the defective component.
