Typical Measurements
Insulation Resistance Test
1. Set the selector to the appropriate MΩ – voltage range:
• MΩ – 250 V • MΩ – 500 V • MΩ – 1000 V
2. Connect the + lead to the ground and the – lead to the test point.
After connection, the megohmmeter automatically will measure the voltage of the item under test.
If voltage is present, the voltage will appear on the display.
•
If the voltage is more than 0 V, but less than 25 V, the results of the insulation resistance test
might not be accurate.
•
If the voltage is greater than 25 V, the insulation resistance test function will be disabled.
3. Press the yellow insulation resistance test button to initiate the test voltage.
4. See the Indicator Table to interpret the display.
5. Release the yellow insulation test button to terminate the test voltage. The megohmmeter will
return to voltage measurement mode. Do not disconnect the leads until the voltage is less than
25 volts.
