•
Only use connecting cables with safety plugs for electrical connections.
•
When laying connecting cables, make sure they're not kinked or pinched.
•
Do not lay cables over hot surfaces.
–
Hot surfaces are identified with a corresponding warning symbol.
•
Make sure that connecting cables are not subjected to continuous tensile loads.
•
When replacing fuses, use specified fuses only with the correct current ratings and tripping
characteristics.
•
The device is not equipped with an integrated fuse unless otherwise specified in the technical data.
•
Always pull on the safety plug when disconnecting connecting cables; never pull the cable.
•
Hazard-free operation of the device is no longer possible in the case of:
–
Visible damage
–
Malfunction
–
Incorrect storage
–
Incorrect transport
–
Switch off the power supply immediately.
–
Protect the device against inadvertent restart.
Danger in Case of Broken Bulb
•
Metal halide lamps contain small quantities of mercury. These are only released if the bulb is broken.
•
If a bulb shatters, observe the following regulations:
–
Disconnect the EduTrainer
–
Since mercury spreads close to the ground, all children should leave the room immediately.
–
Air the room out for at least 15 minutes. If possible, create a through-draught.
–
Once you have aired out the room, collect all the fragments of the bulb in an airtight container
(e.g. a jam jar) and seal it well. Put on disposable or household work gloves to prevent your hands
from getting cut on the shards.
–
You should take the container with the remains of the bulb to your nearest collection point for used
bulbs. If you need to store it temporarily before you can get to a collection point, it is best to leave it
outside.
•
For smooth surfaces:
–
Sweep up the remains of the lamp using a stiff piece of cardboard, for example.
–
Wipe the floor thoroughly twice with a damp, disposable household cloth.
•
For carpets:
–
Vacuum-clean the site of the breakage thoroughly for five minutes with the windows open.
Once this is done, air the room out for 15 minutes. Repeat this procedure at least two more times.
–
If possible, treat the carpet outside and leave it there for one day.
–
Clean the floor nozzle thoroughly and remove the vacuum cleaner bag/clean the dust tank
if you have a bagless vacuum cleaner. Leave the vacuum cleaner running outside for 15 minutes.
–
Dispose of the vacuum cleaner bag/contents and any cloths you have used
in the domestic waste disposal, outside the room.
–
If possible, continue to air out the room.
