Remove the filter box, the carburetor, the manifold and the original reed valve; now fit the
new reed valve support on the cylinder, insert the new reed valve in its housing and fit the
manifold; (in order to fit one of the fixing screws of the rubber manifold it is necessary to
flatten it to be able to fit it and the screws). Be careful when placing the gasket between the
support and the reed valve; the rubber manifold has two closure lips and it doesn't need to
fit the gasket. When this operation has finished insert the carburetor on the manifold , fix
the filter box and close the iron clamps.
For a better set up, the Big valve kit comes with two carbon fiber reed flaps of two different
thickness, 030 and 0,35: the thinner one (0,30), that has been already fitted on the reed
valve, it's the flaps that gives the best compromise between torque and power at higher
rpm. The Ø 21 and Ø 22 carburetors has been already calibrated to be used together with
the Polini Motori cylinder kit and muffler: the use of no original Polini Motori parts may
cause a wrong carburetion and it will be necessary to re-calibrate the carburetor.
To fit the original carburetor the carburetion stays the same; we suggest always verify the
carburetion and to clean the original air filter.
When fitting the Ø 21 carburetor replace the throttle and air cable only. For the Ø 25
carburetor a specific wire with sheath is supplied to replace the original one.

Remove the filter box, the carburetor, the manifold, the original reed valve and the cooling
conveyor air guard for the head and the cylinder; now fit on the engine case the new
support for the reed valve and place again the conveyor guard marking with a felt-tip pen
the area that interferes with the new valve support. Once the conveyor guard has been
marketed cut, using a pair of scissors, the area that touches the valve support. Place the
conveyor guard verifying the right assembly. Be careful not to remove too much material
from the guard because it could cause an increasing of the air coming out.
Once the conveyor guard has been modified proceed with the assembly of the Big Valve
placing the reed valve in its housing and partially screwing on the valve support the screw
that is in correspondence of the slot hole on the manifold; only in this way it is possible to fit
the screws in the right way. Fit the rubber sleeve on the manifold and then fit the carburetor.
If you use the original carburetor fix the small manifold to the original carburetor using the
screws supplied. By fitting the Ø 21 carburetor and the original one it is possible to use the
original air box; for the Ø 21 carburetor it's enough to eliminate the intermediate fixing
bracket on the engine case and use the rear connection only of the filter box.
Using the original carburetor it is necessary to eliminate the intermediate connection and fix
to the rear connection the plate that fixes the filter box.
For the Ø 21 carburetor make a Ø 17,5 hole on the filter box cover as shown in the drawing
and fit the proper tube (supplied only with the carburetor system). By fitting the Ø 25 it is
necessary to remove the fixing boss of the filter box with a milling machine till the edge of
the engine case. When this operation has finished insert the carburetor on the manifold,
fix the filter box and tighten the iron clamps. For the best set up the kit comes with carbon
fiber reeds flaps with a thickness of 0,30mm and 0,35mm; the thinner ones (0,30) that
has already been fitted on the reed valve, are the flaps that give the better compromise
between torque and power, while the flaps with 0,35 thickness usually move the torque and
power at higher rpm. Ø 21 and Ø 25 carburetors have been already calibrated to be used
with a Polini Motori cylinder kit and muffler; using non-original Polini Motori parts may give
a wrong carburetion it will be necessary to re-calibrate the carburetor.
