BrEWiNg A SECONd CArAFE OF COFFEE
To brew another pot of coffee, set the ON/AUTO/OFF button to the OFF position and wait ten
minutes for the heating element to cool. Remove and dispose of the used coffee grounds; then
rinse the carafe and filter basket with water and repeat the brewing procedure detailed in the
"TO BREW COFFEE" section.
WARNING: If you do not allow the appliance to cool completely before reuse, water in the
water reservoir may overheat, causing steam to be released. This could result in burns and/or
other personal injury.
hiNTS FOr grEAT TASTiNg COFFEE
1.
A clean coffee maker is essential for making great-tasting coffee. Regularly clean the
coffee maker a 1. s specified in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" section. Always
use fresh, cold water in the coffee maker.

Store unused coffee grounds in a cool, dry place. After opening a package of coffee
grounds, reseal it tightly and store it in a refrigerator to maintain its freshness.
3.
For an optimum coffee taste, buy whole coffee beans and finely grind them
just before brewing.

Do not reuse coffee grounds as this will greatly reduce the coffee flavor. Reheating coffee
is not recommended as coffee is at its peak flavor immediately after brewing.

Clean the coffee maker when over-extraction causes oiliness. Small oil droplets on the
surface of brewed, black coffee are due to the extraction of oil from the coffee grounds.
6.
Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coffees are used.
NOTE: For optimal performance, unit should be cleaned every 60 days depending on
frequency of use.

To brew coffee immediately, press the ON/AUTO/OFF button and the Coffee Maker will
begin the brew cycle. The red BREW indicator light will illuminate.To change the preset
AUTO start time, simply press the PROG button twice until "PROG" appears in the upper
right corner of the display window. Then press the HOUR button then the MIN button
until the new AUTO future start time is displayed.
NOTE: Pay attention to the AM and PM setting.

Activate the AUTO feature by pressing the ON/AUTO/OFF button until the green AUTO
indicator light illuminates.
uSEr MAiNTENANCE iNSTruCTiONS
This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user-serviceable parts. Any servicing
requiring disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualified
appliance repair technician.
CArE & CLEANiNg iNSTruCTiONS
1.
Always make sure Coffee Maker is unplugged and the warming plate is cool before
attempting to clean.
2.
After daily use, open the lid and remove the permanent coffee filter basket from the
removable filter holder by grasping the handle from the front of the Coffee Maker. Discard
used coffee grounds and rinse the permanent coffee filter basket.
3.
Pull both the removable filter holder and permanent coffee filter basket out of the Coffee
Maker and wash in hot, sudsy water. The removable filter holder and permanent coffee
filter basket are top rack dishwasher safe.
4.
Wash the glass carafe in warm, sudsy water. If necessary, remove the carafe lid
at the hinge. Then scrub the inside of the carafe lid with a soaped kitchen brush. Rinse
well. Replace lid after cleaning.
WARNING: To avoid breakage, handle carafe with care. Avoid impact. Glass will break as
a result of impact. Use care when filling with water to avoid hitting faucet.
