Pull the base-plate (10) downwards.
At the same time, turn the base-plate (10) in the
desired direction.
Release the base-plate (10) or turn on until it
engages in position.

Removing and refitting the base-plate
Removing
Pull off the "cling-fit" sanding sheet.
Slacken off the hexagon socket-head screw (12)
with the hexagon socket-head key (6) and unscrew.
Remove the spring (11) from the recess in the
base-plate (10).
Remove the base-plate (10).
Refitting
Locate the base-plate (10) so that it engages in
position and cannot be turned.
Insert the spring (11) in the recess in the base-
plate (10).
Screw in and fully tighten the hexagon socket-
head screw (12) with the hexagon socket-head
key (6).

Removing and refitting the paper dust
bag holder
If you are not using an external suction unit but
are relying on your sander/scraper's integrated
vacuum extraction feature, fit the paper dust bag
holder along with the dust filter and cover .

Press the catch hook on the paper dust bag
holder (9) and pull the dust bag holder out towards
the back.
Refitting
Push down the catch hook on the paper dust bag

holder (9) and push the cassette fully home until it
locks in position in the sander/scraper.
The catch hook must engage properly on the tool!

Remove the paper dust bag holder (9).
Remove the cover (7).
Lift out the dust filter (8).
Push a new dust filter (8) into the paper dust bag
holder (9) far enough so that it no longer
protrudes.
Refit the cover (7).
Refit the paper dust bag holder (9).

If you wish to use an external suction unit, fit the
vacuum extraction nozzle to the sander/scraper.

You can then connect a Metabo all-purpose
suction unit or some other suitable extraction
device to the vacuum extraction nozzle.
If you do not have a vacuum extraction device
fitted to the vacuum extraction nozzle (3), you
must locate the plug (5) to block off the extraction
channel.
Removing
Use the hexagon socket-head key (6) to slacken
off the hexagon socket-head screw (4) and
unscrew.
Pull the vacuum extraction nozzle (3) out towards
the back.
Refitting
Push the vacuum extraction nozzle (3) in from the
back until it is seated fully home in the
sander/scraper.
Use the hexagon socket-head key (6) to insert the
hexagon socket-head screw (4) and tighten fully.

Do not exert any great pressure as you guide the
sander/scraper over the surface to be processed.
Pressing harder does not increase the tool's
performance.
Change worn "cling-fit" sanding sheets in good
time to ensure the desired results.
Change the dust filter at regular intervals to
ensure maximum dust extraction.
