54 | ABW - Air Circuit Breaker
Probable cause
1. There is no control voltage or the
undervoltage coil is damaged.
2. Variation of control voltage.
1. There is a short-circuit.
2. Very high current in closing.
1. Very low control voltage.
2. Defect in undervoltage coil.
1. Defect in operation mechanism.
1. The circuit breaker closed under short-circuit.
2. Mechanical reset button was not reset.
3. Instability in operation of extraction/insertion.
4. Anti-pumping function.
5. Unloaded springs.
6. Defect in closing coil.
7. Energized opening coil.
8. Defect or undervoltage in undervoltage coil.
9. Circuit breaker with mechanical interlocking
installed.
1. Very low control voltage in closing coil.
2. Defect in closing coil.
1. Unsuitable control voltage.
2. Defect in motorized drive.
1. Obstruction by the Off button.
2. Obstruction by blocking of padlock.
3. Poor positioning of circuit breaker in
extraction car.
1. Extraction rod is inserted.
2. Circuit breaker is not in disconnected
position.
3. Obstruction by blocking of padlock.
1. Circuit breaker and extraction car are
incompatible as regards size.
2. Unsuitable positioning of lever.
3. Cutters blocked by padlock.
Table 8.1:
Corrective actions
1. Check control voltage.
2. Check control voltage.
1. Eliminate short-circuit before reconnecting
circuit breaker.
2. Check the electrical circuit or revise
protection unit adjustment parameters.
1. Check control voltage (0.6~1.1Vn).
2. Change undervoltage coil.
1. Contact WEG.
1. Eliminate short-circuit. Check state of circuit
breaker.
2. Reset the mechanical reset button.
3. Check operation of extraction/insertion.
4. Try again, after de-energizing closing coil.
5. Check power supply of motorized drive.
Check if manual loading functions suitable.
6. De-energize closing coil. Re-energize coil
and check operation of circuit breaker.
7. De-energize opening coil.
8. Energize undervoltage coil (V>0.85Vn) and
try to close the circuit breaker by closing coil.
9. Check mechanical interlocking.
1. Check command voltage (0.75~1.1Vn).
2. Change closing coil.
1. Check control voltage.
2. Check motorized drive circuit.
3. Contact WEG.
1. Tighten Off button while inserting rod in
opening.
2. Remove padlock, releasing blocking.
3. Position circuit breaker correctly in
extraction car.
1. Remove extraction rod.
2. Place circuit breaker correctly in
disconnected position.
3. Remove padlock, releasing blocking.
1. Use compatible unit.
2. Reposition lever to right.
3. Remove padlock.
