INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE AND USE
GENERAL INDICATIONS
Before installing and using the hood, be sure that the voltage (V) and
the frequency (Hz) indicated on the feature plate match the voltage and
frequency at the installation site.
The feature plate and technical data are shown on the inside of the pro-
duct.
This hood is equipped with an extendible tube which allows it to be
adjusted to the height of the stove.
INSTALLATION
The hood can be installed to work in two different ways:
If there is a possibility of installing the hood with an exhaust pipe to the
outside, it will be used in Suction mode. If this possibility does not exist,
the hood will be used in Filtering mode whereby air is recirculated by
active carbon filters.
Suction
If the hood is to be installed as a SUCTION hood, connect the plastic
conical outlet piece (H) supplied with the hood (125 mm diameter) to an
exhaust pipe connected directly to the outside. (Fig. 1).
We recommend the use of the 125 mm diameter pipe for better perfor-
mance and lower noise levels.
Filter
This hood can be transformed into an air purifier if there is no possibi-
lity of connecting it to the outside.
In this case, air is circulated through opening F (Figure 2). In order for
the hood to function as a filtering purifier, two active carbon filters, sup-
plied as separate accessories, must be used. The active carbon filters
must be replaced periodically to work properly, at least once every
three months (depending on the frequency with which the hood is
used). (Fig. 4).
NOTE: Do not connect the hood to chimneys, ventilation pipes or hot
air pipes. Before connecting any pipes, consult municipal ordinances
on exhaust air and request permission from the person in charge of the
building. Be sure there is adequate ventilation, even in cases where the
ENGLISH
hood is to be used simultaneously with another product.
Wall mounting
– The accessories needed to install the hood are inside the hood.
– The hood must be installed at a minimum distance of 66 cm from the
stovetop.
– Place the attached jig in the location where the hood is to be moun-
ted and attach with adhesive tape.
– Drill holes in the wall using a 6 mm drill bit.
– The plugs and screws needed to hang the hood are contained in the
bag of accessories supplied with the hood.
Electrical connection
The appliance must be placed in such a way, that the supply plug is
accessible.
Connect the cord to a socket or omnipolar switch which must have a
minimum contact opening distance of 3 mm.
The manufacture shall not be liable in the event that all safety regula-
tions in force for the correct and normal operation of electrical parts are
not observed.
This hood complies with European Directives EG No. 76/889 EEC and
82/499 EG on protection against radial interference.
Assembly of Decorative Extendible Tube
– Mark the wall at the location of support E (Figure 2) according to the
heights and specifications shown on the attached jig.
– Drill holes in the wall, place plugs in the holes and attach support E
with screws.
– Place tube A (Figure 2) with the extendible part B hanging on the insi-
de.
– Next, secure support G to the upper end of the wall, making sure that
it is properly aligned with the extendible tube. Extend the movable
part of tube B until it reaches support G and connect to the support
with the two side screws. (Fig. 5).
– Finally, to fasten the lower telescopic tube to the extractor hood, the
screws (7 units) must be affixed to the lower part of the extractor
hood while it is extended (Fig. 5).
CONTROL PANELS:
Functions
On/off button (1 ): Starts the motor at the first speed if the motor is
off, and stops the motor if it is on, whatever the speed. The ventilator
symbol (A ) appears when the motor is switched on.
Button to increase the speed (2 ): Increases the speed of the motor
up to the highest speed, causing the speed bars (symbol B) on the LCD
screen to appear as the speed increases. Pressing the button once will
increase the speed by one level; by holding the button down for more
than 0.5 seconds, the speed will continue to increase until it reaches
the maximum or the button is released. At the maximum speed, the
turbo icon (C TURBO) lights up.
Button to decrease the speed (3
): Decreases the speed of the motor
to its lowest speed, causing the speed bars (symbol B) on the screen
to disappear. Pressing the button once will decrease the speed by one
level; by holding the button down for more than 0.5 seconds, the speed
will continue to decrease until it reaches the minimum or the button is
released.
Timer (4 ): Pressing it activates the motor's automatic stopping
process. When activated, the motor will continue to operate at its
existing speed for five minutes after which time it will reduce its speed
to the level immediately lower at which it stays for another five minutes.
This cycle is repeated until the motor is operating at the lowest speed,
which it does for five minutes and then stops. When this function is
activated, the timer symbol (D ) on the LCD screen will start to flash
and the speed bars corresponding to the active speed will remain in
flashing mode while the process lasts. This function can be
deactivated by pressing the (1 ), (2 ), (3 ) or (4 )button.
Light on/off button (5 ): The extractor-fan light comes on at the
intensity at which it was set when it was last on. The level of the light
intensity when disconnected will be stored in its memory unless there
is a power cut.
Button to increase the light intensity (6 ): Increases the light intensity.
Pressing it once increases the intensity by "one point"; if the button is
held down for more than 0.5 seconds, the light intensity will continue
to increase until it is at the maximum or the button is released. This
button has a second function of moving the clock forward when the
(8
) button is activated.
This button has a third function of adding to the time on the alarm when
the (9 ) button is activated.
Button to decrease the light intensity (7
): Decreases the light
intensity. By pressing it once, the light intensity decreases by one point;
if the button is held down for more than 0.5 seconds the light intensity
will continue to decrease until it is at the lowest level or the button is
released. At the minimum, the moon symbol (E
), representing the
night light, appears.
Pressing the button once when the light is off will set the control at the
night-light level indicated by the moon symbol (E ) which lights up.
This button has a second function of moving the clock back when the
(8
) button is activated.
This button has a third function of reducing the time on the alarm when
the (9
) button is activated. Button for setting the time (8
button is used to set the clock (F) which uses the 0h-12h format and
AM-PM symbol. Pressing it once causes the clock's digits to start
flashing and activates the second function of the (6
) and (7
buttons which are used to increase or decrease the time respectively.
Each press of these buttons causes the time to move forward or
backward by 1 minute. If the buttons are held down for more than 0.5
seconds, the time will move forward or backward more quickly until the
buttons are released.
Once the correct time has been established, pressing the (8
again will set the time and restore the (6
) and (7
)
buttons to their main function.
Button to select the countdown alarm (9
): Pressing this button will
activate the alarm (G). When pressed once, it causes the digits of the
clock to start flashing the time recorded in its memory, and activates
the third function of the (6
) and (7
) buttons which are used to
increase or decrease the time respectively. Each press of these
buttons causes the time to increase or decrease by 1 minute. If they
are held down for more than 0.5 seconds the time will increase or
decrease more quickly until the buttons are released.
Once the time has been set, after five seconds (or earlier by pressing
button 9 again) the alarm countdown will activate, the bell symbol
(symbol H
) will light up, the digits will stop flashing and the (6
and (7
) buttons will revert to their main function.
At the end of the countdown, to show that it has ended, a buzzer will
go off intermittently, which will stop sounding after one minute or when
button 9 is pressed.
ELECTRIC MOTOR OPENING
When the extractor hood is turned on, at any of its speeds, the opening
electric motor, which is an extension of the front part of the extractor
hood, is activated to optimise the extraction capacity.
When the extractor hood is turned off, it is returned to its original posi-
tion so as to take up the least possible space.
MAINTENANCE
– Cleaning
Before any type of operation, always make sure that the electrical
cord is disconnected and the switch is in the off position.
Clean the external part with a mild, liquid detergent and avoid the
use of abrasive cleaning products.
– Changing the light
Before changing the light make sure that the hood is not connected.
Remove the grease filter (Figure 3) and replace the light with a light
bulb of no more than 50 W.
Place the filter in position.
IMPORTANT WARNING FOR EXTRACTOR HOODS WITH
HALOGEN LAMPS
If the halogen lamps have to be replaced, they must be replaced by
lamps with an aluminium reflector, never dichroic lamps, to avoid
unnecessary overheating in the lamp holders.
– Cleaning the grease filter.
Depending on use, and at least once a month, the grease filters
should be disassembled (Figure 3) and cleaned in a dishwasher or
with hot soapy water.
If washed in a dishwasher they should be placed in an upright posi-
tion to prevent food remains from falling on them.
After rinsing and drying, replace the filters by following the steps for
disassembly in reverse order.
