6.3 Functional checks
Only use the product if every item on the
following checklist has been satisfied.
Inspection
Can the product be secured against rolling
away using the brake mechanisms provided?
Is the product in perfect working order?
Have all parts included in the delivery been
fitted?
Is the product standing on a flat, even surface
(inclination not exceeding 2°) with sufficient
load capacity?
Have all movable attachments and structural
parts been secured using the mechanism
provided?
Have all the included guardrails been installed
and secured?
Is there a risk assessment provided by the
operator?
7 MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
7.1 Cleaning
Use mild cleaning agents and water to clean
ȫ
the product, safety labels and information
signs.
Do not use cleaning agents that contain
ȫ
solvents.
Replace any missing or damaged safety labels
ȫ
and information signs.
7.2 Inspection
The product must be regularly inspected by a
ȫ
competent person.
The competent person needs to be authorised
ȫ
by the operator to perform the inspection and
must have attended seminars required by law
of the country in question.
After the product has passed the inspection or
ȫ
after all defects have been properly rectified,
an inspection label must be affixed to the
product.
The test must be documented and included in
ȫ
the product documentation.
The test reports must be included if the
ȫ
product is handed over to another owner.
Screw connections must be inspected
ȫ
regularly.
7.2.1 Inspection intervals
The operator must inspect the product every
ȫ
workday to ensure it is in good working order.
At least once a year, the product must be
ȫ
inspected by a competent person, and the
results documented accordingly
If the product is subject to vibrations, its screw
ȫ
connections must be checked monthly.
7.2.2 Scope of inspection
Check all parts for deformation, dents,
ȫ
corrosion and cracks.
Check all screw and riveted connections to
ȫ
ensure they are tight. Where applicable, make
sure they are tightened to the specified torque.
Check welded seams for cracks.
ȫ
Check to ensure castors, wheels and cross
ȫ
beams are working properly.
Check to ensure brakes are functioning
ȫ
properly.
Check that any swivel doors and pole barriers
ȫ
(if present) are working properly.
Check to ensure all optional add-ons and
ȫ
accessories have been fitted correctly and
securely.
8 DISPOSAL
The product must be disposed of in accordance
ȫ
with statutory regulations of the country in
question.
Aluminium and steel components can be fully
ȫ
recycled.
If necessary, a magnet can be used to help
ȫ
you identify steel parts so that they can be
separated for proper disposal.
Dispose of plastic parts in accordance with the
ȫ
local waste disposal and recycling regulations.
