MAINTAINENCE OF BEARINGS (3)
ADJUSTING THE STEERING MECHANISM (4)
For a safer skating we recommend to check the function of your steering mecanism.
1. Your steering is not precise and feels soft:
You might need to change the cushions to harder ones.
You might need to tighten the sction screw on top of your kingpin.
2. Your steering is too strong and feels too hard
You might need to change the cushions to softer ones.
You might need to losen the sction screw on top of your kingpin.
INFORMATION ON USAGE
Always make sure your roller skates fit properly; the shoe should not be too large or small. If one of
your roller skates is too large then it will not offer real support and if the shoe is too small it will show
signs of pressure. If the shoe is tied too tightly, it can lead to blood congestion in the foot. Skaters
with narrow feet have the possibility to compensate an excessive shoe size with suitable insoles.
SKATING SKILLS
It´s recommended that all beginners take a course to learn the basics of stopping, speed control
and striding. Find a traffic free parking lot or paved playground where you can practice. If you do
not have access to professional instruction, you may want to have a friend along the spot to you.
The first technique you need to learn is the right skating positions. Lower your center of gravity by
bending your knees and ankles and leaning forward slightly at the waist. This position will maximize
your balance. Your center of gravity is now centered over your roller skates. Now you are ready to
take your first stride. Push outward and slightly back with your right roller skate. Let yourself glide
with your full weight on your left roller skate. Circle your right skate back under your body. Begin to
push off again, using your left roller skate. Repeat these strides a few times and before you know
it, you are skating. To turn right, place most of your weight on your right roller skate. With your legs
parallel, about shoulders width apart, and with your shoulder s level in relation to the pavement,
point your knees and toes to the right and help steer yourself through the arc. Avoid sudden or jerky
movements, which could force you off balance.
BRAKING USING THE BRAKES (2)
Lift the heel of the rear roller skate and let the brakepad slide on the ground behind your body.
Advanced skater make a 180° turn and skate backwards than lift the heel in order to press the
brakepad on the ground.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

The roller skates should be dried off after every usage.
Dispose of your roller skates using a licensed waste disposal company or your communal disposal
facility. Pay heed to all relevant valid laws. If in doubt, contact your disposal facility regarding
environmentally-sound disposal. Do not expose them to direct heat, in other words not near an
oven or heating. Avoid intense sunlight, for example in the car, because tears may form. Remove any
loose dirt particles using a toothbrush. For more persistent dirt, you can wash the roller skates by
hand with lukewarm water or with a diluted cleaning solution and then wipe it off using clear water.
Use as little water as possible. Rivets, screws or any other hardware (frame, wheels etc.) should not
come into direct contact with water or soap. The shoe should not be submerged in water or washed
in a washing machine. Do not use acidic or corrosive chemicals on plastic parts or the roller skates
