14. Never use the anchor post, and the components associated
with it in the fall arrest system, for any purpose other than that
for which it is intended and under conditions other than those
specified in this manual.
15. It is mandatory to check all the components of the anchor post
at least once every 12 months. This inspection will focus on
the strength of the system and all associated equipment but
also on the legibility of the marking. The user's safety depends
on system efficiency being maintained, and the resistance of
the fall arrest system equipment. This must be achieved
by Tractel
®
, or one of its authorised service engineers, or a
competent person, authorised by the company CEO.
16. Important: If you are responsible for assigning the equipment
to an employee or similar person, ensure that you comply with
the applicable health and safety at work regulations.
17. All anchor post removed permanently from duty must be
destroyed or permanently withdrawn from access, to prevent it
being used by mistake.
18. For the safety of users it is essential that the fall arrest system
or anchor points are always positioned correctly and that the
work is carried out so as to minimise the risk of falls and the
height of the fall.
19. It is essential to safety to check the space required by the user
on the workplace before each use, so that in case of a fall,
there is no obstacle in the path of the fall or collision with
the ground.
20. Never use the anchor post if one of its components is damaged
or may deteriorate the safe functioning of the fall arrest system.
During installation, there should be no degradation of the safety
functions.
21. The user should be fit and healthy, both physically and
mentally, when using the equipment. Should there be any
doubt, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
- Systems with one or more anchor points should never be
used by pregnant women.
22. The equipment must not be used beyond its limits, or in any
other situation than that for which it is intended by this manual.
23. If the anchor post is sold outside the first country of destination,
it is essential for the safety of the operator that the dealer
provides this instruction manual, the method, maintenance
instructions for periodic reviews and instructions on repairs, in
the language of the country where the product is to be used.
24. Before using the anchor post, the user or the authority
responsible for their safety, should have checked the strength
of the anchor in accordance with the regulations and standards
in force.
25. During use, check that the equipment cannot be damaged by
sharp edges, friction, heat sources, etc.
26. During installation of the anchor point, the installer must take
care to secure to remove all risk of falling, according to the
safety rules and standards in force.
WARNING
A study must be carried out before use, in order to define
the emergency operations to be implemented and the
human resources and equipment required for rescuing an
injured person within 15 minutes in the event of a fall
controlled by the travspringlife line or the anchorage post.

2. Definition and symbols
2.1 Definitions
In this manual, the following terms mean:
"Product":
The particular component of an item of equipment, a machine, a
structure, the overall equipment in operating condition in terms of
the manual.
"User":
Person or department responsible for the management and safe
use of the product described in the manual.
"Operator":
Person or department responsible for the use of the product for
which it is destined.
"Fitter" or "Installer":
Person or department responsible for assembling the components
of the product received, for its installation so that the product is
ready to use, for dismantling, uninstalling, and its transport to be
stored or stocked.
"Technician":
Qualified person in charge of the maintenance operations
described and permitted to the user in the manual, who is
competent and familiar with the product.
"Specialist Technician":
Qualified person responsible for the calculation and installation
procedure permitted to the installer by the manual, who is
competent and familiar with the product.
"After Sales Service":
Company or department authorised by a company in the Tractel
group to provide after sales service or product repair operations.
Some maintenance operations are only performed by certain after
sales departments.
"Terrace":
Roofs with a slope angle of between 0° and 10°.
2.2 Symbols
"DANGER":
For comments intended to prevent harm to people, including life-
threatening injury, serious or mild, and the environment.
"IMPORTANT":
For comments intended to prevent failure or damage to the
product, but not putting the life or health of the operator or other
persons directly in danger, or damaging the environment.
"NOTE":
For comments regarding necessary precautions for efficient and
convenient installation, use and maintenance.

safety helmet).
Enter information in the maintenance log, or depending on the
case, in the checklist.
