Selecting the operation mode
The drill can operate in two different modes drilling and impact
drilling.
The impact drill mode should be used when drilling in concrete,
stone and masonry.
In all other types of work, the drill must be run in drilling mode.
When using the drill for screwdriving and unscrewing, select
drilling mode and ensure the bit is properly secured.
Only select or change the operating mode when the drill is
switched off.
Drilling and percussion/impact drilling:
1. To work on drilling mode, slide the operation mode selector
(4) to the right.
2. To work in percussion/impact drilling mode, slide the
operation mode selector to the left. Never use this mode in
an anti-clockwise direction, otherwise it may damage the
impact drill.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
The impact drill does not require any additional lubrication or
servicing. However, for a continuous and trouble-free
operation, you must perform regular cleaning and proper
maintenance tasks.
Before performing any checking, maintenance or cleaning task,
switch off the impact drill and unplug the power cord.
Replacing the carbon brushes
The engine won't run if the carbon brushes are worn out. The
carbon brushes must be replaced in good time, otherwise there
will be imperfect contact between the carbon brushes and the
switch, which can cause sparks and damage to the impact drill.
The two carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time by
two brushes with equal characteristics.
1. Unplug the power cord;
2. Loosen the fixing screws and remove the impact drill housing
to avoid that the electrical devices do not move out of place;
3. Disengage the carbon brush holders and remove the worn
brushes;
4. Place some new carbon brushes (pay attention to the
direction in which the brushes are placed);
5. Before fitting the housing, check that all mechanisms and
cables are correctly placed;
6. Place the housing and tighten the fixing screws.
