General
Safety features
The valve is fitted with internally venting maximum pressure safety burst discs. The discs are
fitted in a path parallel to the load valve and will rupture at a pre-determined pressure with the
effect of operating a spool to allow the oil to internally bypass the load valve and therefore
preventing over-pressurisation.

Product Usage
The HV1500 is a separate hydraulic loading valve predominantly for portable use in conjunction
with LT1500 turbine flow meter for the performance testing and diagnostic faultfinding of large
hydraulic pumps and associated components in a hydraulic system.
Product purpose
A manual valve that can be used for restricting flows of up to 1500 lpm (400 US gpm) at
pressures up to 420 bar (6000 psi).
Warning: This valve must not be used as a static shut off valve. External applied forces could
cause the rupture discs to blow and the fluid to by-pass the fluid restricting element
Installation
Prior to carrying out any hydraulic tests a risk assessment and safety check must be carried
out. Suitable qualified personnel must make all connections in accordance with best hydraulic
practice. The valve and flow meter (if used) must be assembled correctly and installed in the
hydraulic circuit according to recommended usage. The HV1500 and any accessories should
be placed on a level surface and their full weight supported. This valve is uni-directional ensure
it is connected in the correct flow direction as denoted by the arrows on the valve.
