Symptom
The package is not
vacuumed enough.
(continuation)
The packaged food pro-
duct moulds or spoils at
a disproportionately fast
rate.
The package inflates du-
ring storage.
The sealing seam is uneven
or pulls threads when the
bag overhang is cut off.
Cause
• Vacuuming was aborted by
pressing the rotary knob.
• The chamber lid does not
lie tightly on the chamber
lid gasket.
• The packaging of the food
product was contaminated.
• A vacuum bag was used
several times.
• A food product that had
been stored for a longer
period of time was packa-
ged.
• An inappropriate vacuum
bag was used.
• The food product ferments.
• The sealing bar is overhea-
ted.
Remedy
• Place the product in an
unused vacuum bag and
repack it.
• Check whether the cham-
ber lid gasket is dirty or
damaged. If necessary,
clean or replace the cham-
ber lid gasket; see Section
9 "SPARE PARTS AND
ACCESSORIES", page 58.
• Only pack fresh food
products.
• Ensure sufficient hygiene
when packaging.
• Use the vacuum bags only
once.
• Only pack fresh food
products.
• Pack food product imme-
diately and do not store it
beforehand.
• Adhere to the cold chain for
perishable food product.
• Use a suitable vacuum bag;
see Section 5.4 "VACUUM
BAGS", page 44.
• The food product is not sui-
table for vacuum packaging
in this condition. Process
the food product before pa-
ckaging, e.g. by blanching,
freezing, etc.
• Allow the sealing bar to
cool.
• Allow the vacuum bag to
cool for 20 - 30 seconds
before removing the excess
