RADIOTACTIL control systems include one thermostat per room, a control panel,
and different powered gates.
The thermostats, which are usually fixed to the wall in a suitable place, measure
the room temperature and enable a comfortable temperature to be set in each
room.
The control panel is usually totally hidden in the false ceiling next to the internal
air-conditioning unit.
When a thermostat reaches its comfort temperature, a signal is sent to the control
panel which closes the gate, or gates, of the air ducts which feed the room. Over
time, the temperature will change again (either going up or down depending on
the season). This change will be detected by the thermostat which will cause the
gates which had been closed to open again.

Once all the thermostats have reached their respective target temperatures, the
control panel stops the air-conditioning. It re-activates it again once the temperature
of a zone (room) starts to go higher or lower than its comfort temperature.
One of the thermostats, the master one, also includes a function which allows
the operating mode of the climatizer to be selected to: off, cold, heating or
ventilation.
Communication between the thermostats and the control panel is wireless and is
conducted by through radio-waves.
