5.5.
AC/DC CURRENT MEASUREMENT WITH EXTERNAL CLAMP
The maximum AC/DC current measured by using the F100 clamp is 100A.
Exceeding voltage limits could result in electrical shocks to the user and
damage to the instrument
The F100 clamp can only be used in conjunction with the basic
instrument supplied and must only be recalibrated together with it
Fig. 7: Use of the instrument for AC/DC Current measurement
1. Switch on the instrument by pressing the
automatically selected and the indication
2. Insert the F100 clamp connector (see Fig. 1 - part 12) in the COM, VΩ
input terminals. The instrument automatically shows the selection of the AC current
measurement (
3. For DC current measurement, press the V/Ω/ /A
press and hold (>1s) the HOLD/ZERO key to zeroing the residual magnetization. The
value "0.00" is shown on the display
4. Connect the F100 clamp on the cable under test (see Fig. 7) paying attention to the
arrow "" symbol inside the toroid to indicate the positive direction of the current.
Positioning the cable in the center of the clamp to obtain an accurate measurement
result. The current value is shown on the display
