General chain saw safety warnings

1.
Keep all parts of the body away from the saw
chain when the chain saw is operating. Before
you start the chain saw, make sure the saw
chain is not contacting anything. A m o m e n t o f
i n a t t e n t i o n w h i l e o p e r a t i n g c h a i n s a w s m a y c a u s e
e n t a n g l e m e n t o f y o u r c l o t h i n g o r b o d y w i t h t h e
s a w c h a i n .
Always hold the chain saw with your right

hand on the rear handle and your left hand on
the front handle. H o l d i n g t h e c h a i n s a w w i t h a
reversed hand configuration increases the risk of
personal injury and should never be done.

Hold the chain saw by insulated gripping sur-
faces only, because the saw chain may contact
hidden wiring. S a w c h a i n s c o n t a c t i n g a " l i v e " w i r e
m a y m a k e e x p o s e d m e t a l p a r t s o f t h e c h a i n s a w
" l i v e " a n d c o u l d g i v e t h e o p e r a t o r a n e l e c t r i c s h o c k .

W ear eye protection. Further protective equip-
ment for hearing, head, hands, legs and feet is
recommended. A d e q u a t e p r o t e c t i v e e q u i p m e n t
will reduce personal injury from flying debris or
a c c i d e n t a l c o n t a c t w i t h t h e s a w c h a i n .

Do not operate a chain saw in a tree, on a lad-
der, from a rooftop, or any unstable support.

result in serious personal injury.

Carry the chain saw by the front handle with
the chain saw switched o and away from your
body. W hen transporting or storing the chain
saw, always t the guide bar cover. P r o p e r
h a n d l i n g o f t h e c h a i n s a w w i l l r e d u c e t h e l i k e l i h o o d
o f a c c i d e n t a l c o n t a c t w i t h t h e m o v i n g s a w c h a i n .
