Troubleshooting Chart
Problem
Cable kinks or breaks
Cable tangles in drum
Ground fault circuit
interrupter trips and will not
reset
Failure to feed
With Cable Feeder
For Repair Parts, call your local branch
Please provide the following:
- Model Number
- Serial Number (if any)
- Part description and number as shown on parts list
Drain Cleaning Guns

Operator forced the cable
Too much slack between
machine and drain
Cable used in wrong size drain

Cable exposed to acid
Operator forced the cable
Machine running in Reverse
direction
Damaged power cord or
extension cord
Faulty ground fault circuit

Short circuit in motor
Cable tangled in drum
Cable Feeder misadjusted
Cable Feeder roller frozen
Worn cable

Solution
Do not force the cable. Let the
cutter do the work
Allow no more than 1 feet
between machine and drain
opening
Change to a cable that is
suitable in diameter for a line
Clean and oil cable regularly
Do not force the cable. Let the
cutter do the work
Use reverse only if cable gets
caught in pipe
Replace GFCI integrated Power

Pull out the cable and feed in.
Properly press down the lever
of Cable Feeder, not too loose
that the cable will slip, not too
tight that the cable will wear
quickly.
Clean and lubricate Cable
Feeder rollers regularly.
Replace worn rollers.
When cable coils wear flat,
cable should be replaced
