Overview menu Solar settings
• Solar thermal sys installed – Only if "Yes" is displayed for this menu
item, the settings for the solar system are available.
• Change solar configuration – Adding functions to the solar system.
• Current solar configuration – Graphical display of the currently
configured solar system.
• Solar parameters – Settings for the installed solar system.
– Solar circuit – Setting of parameters in the solar circuit
– Cylinder – Setting parameters for DHW cylinders
– Central heating backup – Heat from the cylinder can be used for
central heating backup.
– Solar yield/optimisation – The solar yield anticipated during the
course of the day is estimated and taken into account when
controlling the heat producer. The saving can be optimised using
the settings in this menu.
– Transfer – With a pump, heat can be used from the pre-heating
cylinder to heat a buffer cylinder or a cylinder for DHW heating.
– Solar DHW – Settings, e.g. for thermal disinfection, can be made
here.
• Start solar thermal system – Once all required parameters have
been set, the solar thermal system can be started up.

The efficiency of the system is improved by keeping the
pump
temperature differential within the set ON temperature
differential ( Switch-on diff. solar pump).
▶ "Match-flow" function in the menuSolar parameters >
Solar yield/optimisation activation.
Notice: Risk of damage to system through pump failure!
▶ If a pump with integrated speed modulation is
connected, deactivate the speed modulation function
on the user interface.
No: The solar pump is not controlled via modulation. The
pump does not have any terminals for PWM or 0-10 V
signals.
PWM: The solar pump (high-efficiency pump) is
controlled via pulse width modulation using a signal.
0-10V: The solar pump (high-efficiency pump) is
controlled via modulation using an analogue 0-10 V signal.
Min. speed solar
5 ... 100 %: The speed of the regulated solar pump cannot
pump
fall below the speed set here. The solar pump remains at
this speed until the switch-on criterion no longer applies or
until the speed is increased again.
The percentage value relates to the minimum speed and
maximum speed of the pump. 5 % corresponds to the
minimum speed +5 %. 100 % corresponds to the
maximum speed.
Switch-on diff.
6 ... 10 ... 20 K: If the collector temperature exceeds the
solar pump
cylinder temperature by the differential set here and all
conditions for switching on have been met, the solar pump
is on (at least 3 K more than Switch-off diff. solar pump).
Switch-off diff.
3 ... 5 ... 17 K: If the collector temperature falls below the
solar pump
cylinder temperature by the differential set here, the solar
pump is off (at least 3 K less than Switch-on diff. solar
pump).

Speed ctrl solar
The efficiency of the system is improved by keeping the
pump2
temperature differential within the set ON temperature
differential ( Switch-on diff. sol. pump2).
▶ "Match-flow" function in the menuSolar parameters >
Solar yield/optimisation activation.
Notice: Risk of damage to system through pump failure!
▶ If a pump with integrated speed modulation is
connected, deactivate the speed modulation function
on the user interface.
No: The solar pump for collector array 2 is not controlled
via modulation. The pump does not have any terminals for
PWM or 0-10 V signals.
PWM: The solar pump (high-efficiency pump) for the 2nd
collector array is controlled via pulse width modulation
using a signal.
0-10V: The solar pump (high-efficiency pump) for the 2nd
collector array is controlled via modulation using an
analogue 0-10 V signal.
Min. speed solar
5 ... 100 %: The speed of the regulated solar pump 2 set
pump 2
here cannot fall below the set speed. The solar pump 2
remains at this speed until the switch-on criterion no
longer applies or until the speed is increased again.
Switch-on diff. sol.
6 ... 10 ... 20 K: If the collector temperature exceeds the
pump2
cylinder temperature by the differential set here and all
conditions for switching on have been met, the solar pump
2 is on (at least 3 K more than Switch-off diff. sol. pump2).
Switch-off diff. sol.
3 ... 5 ... 17 K: If the collector temperature falls below the
pump2
cylinder temperature by the differential set here, the solar
pump 2 is off (at least 3 K less than Switch-on diff. sol.
pump2).
Max. collector
100 ... 120 ... 140 °C: If the collector temperature
temp.
exceeds the temperature set here, the solar pump is off.
Min. collector temp. 10 ... 20 ... 80 °C: If the collector temperature falls below
the temperature set here, the solar pump is switched off,
even if all the cut-in conditions have been met.
Vac. tube pump
Yes: The solar pump is switched on briefly every 15
anti-seize
minutes between 6:00 and 22:00, in order to pump the
heated heat transfer medium to the temperature sensor.
No: Vacuum tube collector pump anti-seize function
switched off.
Vac. tube pump
Yes: The solar pump 2 is switched on briefly every 15
kick 2
minutes between 6:00 and 22:00, in order to pump the
heated heat transfer medium to the temperature sensor.
No: Vacuum tube collector pump anti-seize 2 function
switched off.
Southern Europe
Yes: If the collector temperature falls below the set value
function
( Switch-on temp. S.Eur. fct.) sinks, the solar pump is
on. This pumps hot water from the cylinder through the
collector. If the collector temperature exceeds the set
temperature by 2 K, the pump is off.
This function is intended solely for regions where the high
temperatures mean that damage from freezing usually
cannot occur.
Caution! The Mediterranean climate function does not
provide absolute protection from damage caused by
freezing. The system may need to be operated with heat
transfer medium instead of water only!
No: Southern European function is switched off.
Switch-on temp.
4 ... 5 ... 8 °C: If the collector temperature falls below the
S.Eur. fct.
value set here, the solar pump is on.
