Replacing/Inserting the Saw
Blade
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Inserting the Saw Blade (see figure
Wear protective gloves when assembling
the saw blade. Contact with the saw blade
can lead to injuries.
Insert the saw blade (teeth in cutting direction)
into the stroke rod until it latches. While inserting
the saw blade, pay attention that the back of the
saw blade is positioned in the groove of the guide
roller 13.

Precision Control
To improve the sideward stability of
the inserted saw blade, press the
pushbutton for Precision Con-
trol 11. The saw blade 15 is guided
laterally by means of the Precision
Control guides 14 which enables
precision cuts.
Precision Control can be applied for all applica-
tions, including mitre cuts. Precision Control is
particularly recommended for cuts in thick wood;
the cutting angle is maintained and run-off of the
saw blade is reduced. For further information,
see "Tips".
For switching off the Precision Control function,
eject the saw blade and reinsert it again, as re-
quired. Caution! The saw blade can be hot. Wear
protective gloves.

Note: If the saw blade
can not be inserted
into the stroke rod 12
because the grooves
of
the
saw
blade
holder are not in the
right position or be-
cause the Precision
Control guides 14 are
shut
(see
figure),
briefly press the SDS
clamping lever 18 to-
wards the front and re-
lease again.

Ejecting the Saw Blade (see figure
When ejecting the saw blade, hold the ma-
chine in such a manner that no persons or
animals can be injured by the ejected saw
blade.
To eject the saw blade, slide the SDS clamping
lever 18 toward the front to the stop; this releases
the Precision Control guides 14 and ejects the
saw blade.
Starting Operation
Observe correct mains voltage: The voltage of
the power source must agree with the voltage
specified on the nameplate of the machine.
Equipment marked with 230 V can also be con-
nected to 220 V.
Switching On and Off
BJS-TH 135
To start the machine, press the On/Off switch 3
and keep it depressed.
To lock on, push the lock-on button 2 to the left
or right while the On/Off switch 3 is pressed.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off
switch 3 or push and release it then.
BJS-SHO 135
To start the machine, press the On/Off switch 3
forward.
To switch the machine off, press the On/Off
switch 3 to the rear.
Electronic Soft Start
The electronic soft start feature increases the
service life of the motor and the mechanical
transmission. After brief soft starting, the ma-
chine reaches the preselected stroke speed.
Constant Electronic Control
The constant electronic control keeps the stroke
speed at no-load and under load almost constant;
this ensures uniform operation feed and an even
cutting pattern.
Stepless Stroke-speed Control
(BJS-TH 135)
Lightly pressing the On/Off switch 3 results in low
stroke speed. Applying more pressure increases
the stroke speed.
