2.8 Personal protective equipment

• Wear appropriate protective clothing when handling the product (for example,
safety shoes, close-fitting clothing, a hair net for long, loose hair). As the system
user or operator, you are personally responsible for ensuring the use of appropriate
protective equipment when the product is being used. All component parts of the
personal protective equipment must be free of damage.

2.9 Owner responsibilities

• Before the initial start-up or re-commissioning of a case lifter, carry out a risk
assessment according to occupational safety law (in Germany), or general
guidelines 89/391/EWG. You must accept and observe the residual risks listed in
these operating instructions.
• Before initial commissioning, make sure there are no protruding or sharp-edged
parts that may be a hazard to personnel working or moving in the area.
• Provide safety training to the operating personnel before starting up the product
for the first time or after a prolonged period, and then at regular intervals.
