Connecting the WLAN module
NOTE
Damage to the inverter due to electrostatic discharge
Internal components of the inverter can be irreparably damaged by electrostatic discharge or connection
of unsuitable USB devices.
› Ground yourself before touching any component.
› The COM3 connection is only suitable for the Wi-Fi stick included in the scope of delivery
or the 4G stick optionally available from KACO new energy.
The device has been installed on the mount.
1 Remove the cap on the COM3 connector (Pos. 1).
2 Insert the WiFi module (Pos. 2) into the existing connection and screw it into the
connection using the nut on the WiFi module.
» The WIFI module is connected to the device.
3 Ensure the module is securely connected and the label on the module can be seen.
1.9
RS485 connection
NOTE
A network cable of category 5E or higher is required for connection to the RJ45 socket.
For outdoor use, UV resistance and a maximum installation length (over all inverters) of 1000m are
permitted.
Damage to the inverter due to electrostatic discharge
Internal components of the inverter can be irreparably damaged by incorrect wiring between the power
and signal cables. All warranty claims are thereby rendered invalid.
› Ensure that the cable is correctly assigned.
The device has been installed on the mount.
1 Unscrew the cover cap of the communication connection (COM1 or COM2) (see illustration below, observe the sequence
and directions of the arrows).
2 Feed the network cable through the thread sleeve (incl. forcing nut).
3 Configure the communication line as shown in Figure 19 (according to DIN 46228-4, provided by the customer).
4 Plug the network cable into COM1 or COM2 (see Fig. 20. Note the sequence and directions of the arrows)
» The RS485 Cable is connected to the device.
5 Tighten the thread sleeve, then tighten the forcing nut at the end (pos. 5 and 6).
