Wear protective gloves during work and pay particu-
u
lar attention to the cord. Make sure that cut sheet
parts are not bent towards your body or the cord.
Sharp burrs develop on the cut sheets; these can cause
injury or damage the cord. When necessary and while
wearing gloves, press bending sheet parts away from
your body and/or from the cord.
Apply the machine to the workpiece only when switched on.
Hold the power tool inclined at an angle of 15° to the surface
of the steel sheet and do not tilt it laterally.
Guide the power tool evenly, pushing it gently in the cutting
direction. Applying too much pressure to the power tool will
significantly reduce the service life of application tools and
can damage the power tool.
When cutting curves, make sure not to tilt the power tool lat-
erally and work with low feed rate only.
Maximum steel sheet cutting capacity
The maximum steel sheet cutting capacity d
the strength properties of the material to be cut.
The power tool allows for cutting of metal sheet to the follow-
ing thicknesses:

Loosen the fastening screw (12) for the bottom cutter. Ad-
just the requested cutter clearance a with the set screw (11)
for the bottom cutter. The upper cutter (8) and the bottom
cutter (10) may not touch each other.
Check the clearance with the setting gauge (13). Retighten
the fastening screw (12) for the bottom cutter.
Adjusting cutter clearance "b"
For adjustment of cutter clearance
b, the stroke mechanism (7) of the
upper cutter must be at the upper
dead centre point. For this, briefly
switch the power tool on and then
immediately off again. If the stroke
mechanism does not stop at the
upper dead centre point, repeat
the process.
Screw the set screw for the upper cutter (6) clockwise using
a fitting pin. Loosen the fastening screw (9) of the upper cut-
ter and adjust the upper cutter (8) in such a manner that the
vertical clearance b between the upper and bottom cutter is
0.4 mm. Check the clearance with the setting gauge (13).
Retighten the fastening screw (9) for the upper cutter.
Screw the set screw for the upper cutter (6) anticlockwise
until it faces against the upper cutter (8).
For softer or more ductile materials, the clearance b must be
decreased; for harder or more brittle materials, it must be in-
creased.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning

Remove the battery from the power tool before carry-
u
ing out work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance,
changing tool, etc.). The battery should also be re-
moved for transport and storage. There is risk of injury
from unintentionally pressing the on/off switch.
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep
u
the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
If the battery is no longer working, please contact an author-
ised after-sales service agent for Bosch power tools.
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord
needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by an
after-sales service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch
power tools.
Changing the bottom cutter (see figure B)
Unscrew the set screw (11) of the bottom cutter. Fully un-
screw the fastening screw (12) of the bottom cutter and re-
move the bottom cutter (10).
Insert a new bottom cutter (10) into the recess of the chip
deflector (2). Fasten the bottom cutter with the fastening
screw (12).
Check the cutter clearance a as described above.
