The PowerCombi is equipped with a test sensor technology, which switches only on
when connected correctly to the vehicle battery.
- If one terminal is disconnected, the PowerCombi switches off automatically.
- To avoid short-circuits between parts of the vehicle and clamp of the PowerStarter, the
clamps are insulated against the cables.
- In each case work at the PowerStarter should be done with the utmost care to avoid
short circuits taking place between PowerStarter and parts of the vehicle.
- In case of wrong polarity, the PowerCombi gives an acoustic signal and the large
control lamp („Reverse polarity alarm") flashes red (see C 4).
Observe the following safety instructions when using PowerCombi as starting aid:
- Switch off all consumers.
- Turn the ignition off
- Protect your eyes by wearing glasses.
- Avoid contact to acid residue of the battery (damage or destruction of clothes and skin).
- Keep the installation place well-ventilated (formation of oxyhydrogen gas-danger of
explosion).
- Provide for a suitable location so that the PowerCombi has also a firm position after the
start of the motor (vibrations).
- For switching the safety relay (in PowerCombi) the PowerStarter must have a min.
voltage of approx. 5 volts.
- Ensure when connecting the terminals that no moveable motor parts (fans, cone belts,
generators, etc.) are in the proximity.
