- Insert the plug of the booster cable into the appropriate bush underneath the working
lamp of the PowerCombi (a wrong polarity is not possible due to the form of bush and
plug). (See ✎ B 3) and ✎ B 4)
- First connect the red (+, positive) clamp to the plus terminal of the battery (see C 5).
- Then connect the black (-, negative) clamp to the minus terminal of the battery C 5).
With correct connection, the green control lamp illuminates green ("battery clips
connected properly") (see C 4). In case of wrong polarity, the control lamp ("Reverse po-
larity alarm")will start flashing red and a signal tone is emitted.
- Wait for approx. 5 - 10 minutes after the connection (depending upon remaining charge
status of the PowerStarter) to pre-charge the battery.
This pre-charging is necessary since the maximum permissible starting current which
PowerCombi may supply amounts to 50 A. Higher currents damage the PowerCombi.
- Start the engine.
- If the engine works, first disconnect the black clamp from the battery terminals, then the
red one. Only then disconnect the plug of the booster cable from the bush at the
PowerCombi (in no case disconnect the plug at the cable of the bush but take hold of it
at the plug housing and pull it out then)
Caution! Pay attention at any time to any moving parts. Risk of injury !

Use of PowerCombi as a 12 V voltage source

Observe the following safety instructions when using PowerCombi as 12 V voltage
source:
- Max. current consumption of connected appliances is 10A.
- Check the maximum current consumption of the unit to be supplied before
connecting it to the PowerCombi.
- Use the 12 v cable which is delivered with the unit you want to connect to the
PowerCombi. One side of the connecting cable must have a plug, which fits
into the cigarette lighter socket of the PowerCombi.
Use of PowerCombi as a 12 V voltage source
- Switch off the unit that is to be supplied with 12 V tension.
- Insert the plug of the connecting cable into the socket of the PowerCombi.
- Switch on the unit again.
