Most commercial-grade detergents are suitable for this purpose.
In your dishwasher you can load detergent in tablets, powder or liquid.
Never use a manual washing detergent!
Depending how dirty the dishes are, the detergent dosage can be
adapted to individual requirements by means of powder or liquid
detergent. Detergent tablets contain a sufficient quantity of active
components for all tasks. Powerful modern detergents often use low
alkaline formulations with phosphates and enzymes. Phosphate
includes the lime contained in the water. Enzymes degrade starch
and albumin. Phosphate-free detergents are less common. They
have a somewhat lower lime binding capacity and require a higher
dosage. Oxygen-based bleach is generally used to remove colour
stains (tea, ketchup).
The detergent dispenser must be refilled before starting the wash
cycle, following the instructions provided in the wash cycle table.
Your dishwasher uses less detergent and rinse aid than a
conventional dishwasher. Generally, only one tablespoon of
detergent is needed for normal loading (dirtier items need more
detergent). Always add detergent just before turning on the
dishwasher, otherwise it may become damp and will not dissolve
properly.
To add detergent, press the unlock button to open the lid. Add the
detergent and close the lid again until the closure snaps into place.
