Motor
Be sure your power supply agrees with nameplate marking.
120 Volts AC means your tool will operate on standard 60
Hz household power. Do not operate AC tools on DC. A
rating of 120 volts AC/DC means that your tool will operate
on standard 60 Hz AC or DC power. This information is
printed on the nameplate. Lower voltage will cause loss of
power and can result in over-heating. All PORTER-CABLE
tools are factory-tested; if this tool does not operate, check
the power supply. This tool is AC only.

WARNING: Never modify the power tool or any part
of it. Damage or personal injury could result.
Refer to Figure A at the beginning of this manual for a
complete list of components.

INTENDED USE

This circular saw is designed for general cutting of wood
and wood based composites with a max cutting depth of 2
inches. Do not use bonded abrasive wheels or blades.

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY NEVER
CUT MATERIALS WHICH THE SAW IS NOT INTENDED
TO CUT.
DO nOT use under wet conditions or in presence of
flammable liquids or gases.
DO nOT let children come into contact with the tool.
Supervision is required when inexperienced operators use
this tool.
Adjustment / Assembly

WARNING: Always unplug saw from power supply
before any of the following operations.
Adjusting the depth of cut (Fig. F)
The depth of cut should be set according to the thickness of
the workpiece.
1. Loosen depth adjust lever
2. Set desired cutting depth using cutting depth scale
3. Tighten depth adjust lever
For an optimal quality cut, the saw blade should not extend
more than 3 mm below the workpiece
nOTE: Always make trial cuts first to verify actual line of cut.

Attaching And Removing The Blade

WARNING: Always unplug saw from power supply
before any of the following operations.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, read, understand and follow all important
safety warnings and instructions prior to using tool.
1. Push and hold the spindle-lock button
you remove blade bolt
CLOCKWISE ( in same direction as arrow printed on saw
blade).
2. Release spindle-lock button
3. Lift lower guard handle
removed.
4. Remove clamping flange
5. Select the proper blade for the application. Always use
blades that are the correct size (4.5" diameter) with the
proper size and shape center hole (3/8" diameter) for
mounting on the saw spindle. Always assure that the
maximum recommended speed (rpm) on the saw blade
meets or exceeds the speed (rpm) of the saw.
6. Install new blade making sure that rotation of blade is in
same direction as arrow printed on the guard.
7. Mount clamping flange
8. Firmly tighten blade bolt
COUNTER-CLOCKWISE while pushing in on the spindle-
lock button

9. Once the blade is secure, release spindle-lock button
