General
This guide is intended for trained specialised personnel. For
this reason no basic working steps are included.
The tamper-evident seal on the flow sensor must
not be broken!
A damaged seal will result in immediate invalidation
of the factory warranty and verification. The cables supplied
with the meter must neither be shortened, extended nor
changed in any other way.
Observe the instructions for the use of flow sensors!
The installation must only be carried out by a
specialist installation or electrical company. The
personnel must be trained in the installation and handling
of electrical equipment and be cognisant of the Low Voltage
Directive.
The relevant ESD regulations (electrostatic
discharge) must be observed.
No responsibility is accepted for damage (especially
to the electronics), resulting from non-observation of the
rules.
This product is designated (where relevant) as a
pressure maintaining component in the sense of
the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and may
only be operated as a pressure maintaining component with
temperature sensors suitable for this purpose.
This product is not intended for used as a safety device in
the sense of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
The following information should be taken from the
type plate of the device in question:
• The nominal diameter DN for the pipe
• The applied test pressure PT in Bar and the date
• The intended use
• Operation >110 °C Fluid-Group according
pressure equipment directive 2014/68/EU
Medium
Water according to AGFW-Worksheet FW510
(the lifecycle of the meter may be impaired if not
observed).
Temperature range
The temperature range is dependent on the variant
and nominal size (see type plate).
Pipeline insulation
In the case of the pipeline insulation, the housing
with the electronics must remain free (see Fig. 3).
Otherwise the electronic will run too hot and could be
damaged.
Further details about the variants and the applicable
standard EN1434 can be found in the data sheet. These
must be observed without fail.

Installation
Hot Surface
Burning Hazard
The unit you have purchased contains electronic
components which could be destroyed by electric
or magnetic fields.
For this reason, neither the device itself nor the incoming and
outgoing cables must be installed in the immediate vicinity
of heavy electrical loads or their conduits (e.g. switches,
electric motors). The precise separation depends on the
magnitude of the voltage and current in these consumers.
In case of doubt consult an expert.
•
The flow sensor must not be fitted in either a hot or
cold branch of the system. Ensure that the flow sensor
is mounted in the mounting position corresponding to
the temperature of the medium (see "6. Temperature
loads" on page 9 and Fig. 1).
•
The flow sensor must be installed so that the flow
direction matches the arrow direction on the sensor.
•
Calming sections are not necessary before and after the
flow sensor. For systems without temperature mixing, a
straight DN 3 - 10 section upstream of the flow sensor
is recommended.
