Laser safety
The system uses a Class 2 laser according to the requirements of
IEC 60825-1:2007. This laser complies with 21 CFR 1040.10 and
1040.11 except for deviations pursuant to Laser Notice No. 50, dated
June 24, 2007. The laser operates at a wavelength of 630 – 680
nm and has a maximum radiant power <1 mW. No maintenance is
necessary to keep the product compliant as outlined above.
Do not look directly into the laser beam at any time. (The
natural blink reaction of the human eye is normally sufficient to
protect the eyes from any dangers posed by looking at the laser
beam briefly. But as natural blink reaction may fail to occur,
care should be taken to avoid staring into the beam.)
Do not insert any optical devices into the beam path.
The LED on the front of sensALIGN laser illuminates whenever
the laser beam is emitted.
CAUTION – Use of controls or adjustments or performance of
procedures other than those specified herein may result in
hazardous radiation exposure.
To prevent eye damage and personal injury:
Do not point laser directly at persons or animals or indirectly off
reflective surfaces.
Do not look directly into the laser with optical tools (for example
: binoculars, telescopes, microscopes). Optical tools can focus
the laser and be dangerous to the eye.
Use the system only as specified or hazardous laser radiation
exposure can occur.
Do not open the system. The laser beam is dangerous to eyes.
Have the system repaired only through an approved technical
site.
Camera LEDs (eye safety)
The touch device camera LEDs are considered Risk Group 1 according
to IEC 62471:2006. DO NOT look directly at the operating LEDs or
direct the beam to another person's eyes, as this may lead to eye
injury.
Transporting lithium based battery operating system
components
When returning lithium-ion battery operated system components
to PRÜFTECHNIK for inspection, service or repair, ensure that the
batteries are not defective. If you suspect a defect in the battery, DO
NOT ship the unit with the defect battery back to PRÜFTECHNIK. You
may contact your local representative for further information.
The relevant material safety data sheets for all PRÜFTECHNIK batteries
are posted on the PRÜFTECHNIK website at www.pruftechnik.com.
The packaging and dispatch regulations for any given battery are
described under section 14 in the material safety data sheets.
