TIPS FOR USING YOUR POTS

While slow cooking, fluids will reduce through boiling. Start with a small
amount of liquid and gradually add more as needed while cooking. If
there is too much liquid left at the end of the cooking process, turn the
slow cooker to the HIGH position. Cook in this position to reduce the
liquid.

For best flavor do not crush or grind herbs and spices.
•
If cooking on LOW position, some recipes can take up to nine hours to
prepare.
•
Meat with a high percentage of fat can affect the flavor of the dish.
Browning or precooking can reduce fat.
•
To reduce cooking time, cut food into small pieces.
•
Some vegetables require a longer cooking time. Put vegetables like pota-
toes, carrots or beets to the bottom of the ceramic pot making sure they
are covered by the liquid.
