Sand Waffles
Ingredients:
200 g (7 oz) margarine or butter, 100 g (3½
oz) sugar, grated rind of 1 lemon, 4 eggs,
200 g (7 oz) flour, ½ tsp. baking powder, 1
tbsp. rum, icing sugar
Preparation:
Cream fat, sugar and lemon rind. Add the
eggs one after another and mix well. Gently
fold in the flour sifted with baking powder in
small portions, and finally stir in the rum.
Bake the dough immediately.
Sprinkle the baked waffles with icing sugar.
Serve warm or cold.
Waffle iron:
High temperature setting
Cinnamon Waffles
Ingredients:
125 g (4½ oz) margarine or butter, 3 eggs,
50 g (1 ¾ oz) sugar, 1 packet vanilla sugar,
250 g (9 oz) flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 2 tsp.
baking powder, 125 ml (4½ fl oz) lukewarm
water, sugar and cinnamon for icing
Preparation:
Whisk the fat, sugar and vanilla sugar; add
the eggs one after another. Gently fold in
the flour sifted with baking powder and
the lukewarm water, and finally add the
cinnamon.
Bake the dough immediately.
Sprinkle the baked waffles with sugar and
cinnamon. Serve warm.
