5.5 Pouring in the filter material
•
Remove the tank cover (2), loosen the screws (4.1), remove the cover and the O ring (3).
•
Mount the individually packaged manometer (1.3) as shown on the exploded view
(see Technical illustrations index) and screw it pressure-tight to the lid.
•
Remove the water funnel (6). Then check the inside of the filter to make sure that it is
complete and to check for possible transport damage. Check that the nozzle pipes (11) and
ventilation pipe (8) fit properly in the distributor head (10).
•
Cover the top pipe opening (7) and the vent pipe (8) with a cloth / plastic bag.
•
Fill with water to a height of approx. 20 cm and then carefully insert the filter material.
When inserting the filter material, make sure to pour in the coarse filter material first, and
then the fine grain (see illustration below). Level the filter bed surface after inserting each
type of grain. (See chapter 3.2 for the filter material needed)
•
After pouring in the filter material, remove the cloth or plastic bag and screw the water
funnel (6) back on. Make sure that the water distributor is in the centre of the tank.
•
Clean the sealing surface on the top tank opening. Also clean the sealing surface of the
tank lid (2) and the O ring (3). Insert the O ring into the tank lid (2).
Then put the service cover on in such a way that the manometer (1.3) is clearly visible/readable.
•
Attach the screws (4.1) and tighten diagonally (max. 6 Nm).
NOTE
Filter sand must not be used mixed with AFM!
NOTE
Before the filter is put into operation, the filter material must be sufficiently
backwashed (min. 4 minutes) to rinse out any fine grain present
