Waste electrical and electronic equipment must
not be disposed of with household waste. They
must be recycled. To improve waste separation,
the
Electrical
and
Electronic
Equipment
Acttherefore stipulates that all electrical and
electronic
equipment
must
be
permanently
labelled with the corresponding symbol, the
crossed-out dustbin.
Free collection points for old electrical appliances
are available for you to return them. You can obtain
the addresses from your city or local authority.
Batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed
in the old appliance, as well as lamps that can be
removed from the old appliance without being
destroyed, must be removed from the old
appliances before disposal.
As a consumer, you are generally obliged to hand
in used batteries and accumulators as well as
lamps separately at the special collection points.
Make sure that the batteries and accumulators are
completely empty. Only then carefully remove the
batteries and accumulators from the old device.
