Installation and Commissioning
1. Remove the protective cap by holding the lower part and turning the upper part counter-
clockwise. Rinse the sensor for a short time with deionized water. If the sensor has
already been used, the sensitive part can be cleaned if necessary with a soft tooth-
brush and a mild soap solution, and then rinsed for a short time with deionized water.
After rinsing, dab the sensor tip dry.
2. Place the sensor into the process adapter as described in its instruction manual. The
InPro X1 HLS is compatible with METTLER TOLEDO InFit™, InTrac™ and InFlow™ hous-
ings. For hygienic applications, we recommend the use of an InFit761/NC type housing.
Important: InPro X1 HLS sensors must have an angle of installation of 15° or more
above the horizontal. This is required due to the design of the reference system with the
pre-pressurized liquid electrolyte. Additionally, in applications with little or no flow, air
bubbles can become trapped at the sensor tip. Trapped bubbles lead to interference and
negatively influence the pH measurement performance. This can be avoided by an
installation angle 15° from the vertical. The proper angle of installation for the InPro
X1 HLS is between 15° and 75° from the vertical.
3. Connect the sensor to the installed METTLER TOLEDO ISM™ transmitter with an AK9
cable of the desired length. Note the connections scheme that accompanies the cable
or the transmitter.
4. ISM sensors from METTLER TOLEDO such as the InPro X1 HLS, support Plug and
Measure and predictive diagnostics. For installation, commissioning and operation of
the ISM system please observe the instructions for the transmitter and cable.
