1. SAFETY WARNINGS

ො This appliance is not intended for being used by children from 0 to 8 years old. This
appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appli-
ance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should not play with the appli-
ance. Cleaning and maintenance shall not be performed by children.
ො For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a
rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electrical cir-
cuit. Ask your installer for advice.
ො If the power cord is damaged, in order to avoid risks, it should be replaced by the
manufacturer, maintenance department or similar sector professionals.
ො This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or sepa-
rate remote-control system.
ො Only the appropriate connector must be used.
ො Do not use attachments not recommended or supplied for this product.
ො Disconnect the appliance from the power supply if it is left unattended and before
assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
ො Make sure the power used corresponds with the one indicated on the rating label.
ො Use the iron only for the intended use.
ො Do not leave the iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board. Bums can
occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam.
ො Keep the iron out of the reach of the children.
ො Unplug the iron from the mains electrical supply before cleaning, filling with water or
emptying the water tank or immediately after use.
ො Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces.
ො To protect against a risk of electric hazards, do not immerse the iron in water or any
other liquid.
ො The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
ො The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage
or if it is leaking.
