from the muffler guard, the bolt you removed from
the valve cover, and a new flange-head bolt from the
kit.
Important: Ensure that you insert the mounting
bracket between the engine and the muffler
guard as shown in Figure 7.

Connecting the Air Cleaner to
the Engine
Parts needed for this procedure:
1 Large air hose
3 Hose clamp
1 Weather cap
Procedure
1. If the air intake port is not pointing straight up,
loosen the bolt and nut securing the canister
mounting straps, rotate the canister so that the port
is up, and tighten the bolt and nut to secure the
canister (Figure 8).

2. Slide two hose clamps onto the large air hose
(Figure 9).

3. Install the air hose onto the intake pipe on the
carburetor and the lower port on the canister
(Figure 9).
4. Slide the hose clamps over the hose and lip of the
intake pipe and lower port and tighten them to
secure the hose.
5. Place a hose clamp over the port on the bottom of
the weather cap (Figure 10)
