Load centre of gravity
•
When dimensioning the forklift truck, one expects that in normal driving operation the suspension
point is fully retracted and thus there is only a small load centre distance.
•
When using attachments, especially when using a distance adjustment VA, the distance of the load
centre is increasing, whereby the carrying capacity / working load limit of the fork lift truck is
reduced.
•
Only when the load is lifted ~10 cm (~ 4") above the storage area (e.g. lorry bed) and only when the
forklift stands still, it is allowed to move the mount point forward hydraulical, to put down the
gripping good. If this is not done, there is a risk of the forklift truck tipping over and causing an
accident or death!
•
After putting down the gripping good, the moint point (the distance adjustment VA) has to be
retracted immediately.
