Determining the Staple Length
Consider two factors when determining the correct staple length:
- the thickness of the material being fastened
- the composition (hardness) of the material being fastened.
4–6 mm staple or 6–8 mm nail in length will typically suffice when
driving into plywood and fiber board.
8–12 mm staple or 10 mm nail in length will typically suffice when
fastening into softwood such as pinewood.
