Only the Dräger Pulsar 7000/7700 Duct Mount is suitable for duct installation.
1. Remove the cover.
2. Mount each of the mounting plates to the duct using 4 suitable screws.
4.2.4
Wiring the gas warning system
WARNING
Explosion hazard when work is carried out while voltage is present or there is a potentially explosive atmosphere.
► Do not open the junction boxes when energized or in the presence of an explosive atmosphere.
1. Ground the mounting plates of both transmitter and receiver.
To do this, connect the marked ground connection on the mounting plate to ground (screw: M5x8, tightening torque:
3,68 ft lb. ±0.73 ft lb/5 Nm ±1 Nm, cable cross-section: AWG 12/4 mm
2. Ground the housing of both transmitter and receiver.
To do this, connect the marked ground connection on the rear of the housing to protective earth (screw: M5x10, tightening
torque: 3,68 ft lb. ±0.73 ft lb/5 Nm ±1 Nm, cable cross-section: AWG 12/4 mm
3. Ground the junction box.
To do this, connect the marked ground connection to ground (screw: M5x10, tightening torque: 3,68 ft lb. ±0.73 ft lb/
5 Nm ±1 Nm, cable cross-section: AWG 12/4 mm
NOTICE
If armored cables or metal conduits are being used, insulators must be installed in the cable connections between the transmitter
and receiver and to the control unit. This prevents the possibility of earth loops. The insulators are installed between cable gland
and junction box, for example.
Dräger recommends using shielded cables. When shielded cables are used, the shielding must only be connected in the control
unit and to the "S" terminals in the junction boxes.
