DIRTY WATER
SUBMERSIBLE PUMP
Brief introduction
Sewage submersible pump
(hereunder refer to as pump) is
mainly comprised of three parts:
pump body, mechanical seal and
motor. Pump body locates at the
lower part of the pump, the impeller
and shell. Motor locates at the
upper part of the pump, which is
the single phase or three-phase
electrical motor. Mechanical seal
is between pump and motor and it
is a kind of double end mechanical
seal. O-rings are applied in all static
joints of the submersible pump.
This series pump is widely used
in agriculture, architecture, mine,
environment protection and
industry, such as drainage slurry,
wastewater, dung, which contained
short fibred, wastepaper, sand and
so on. It is also an ideal equipment
for irrigation.
OPERATING CONDITIONS
Medium temperature not above 40ºC;
PH range of medium should
between 4 to 10;
The density of medium should not
exceed 1200kg/m3;
The depth of the pump under water
must be less than 5 meters;
Volume of solid content should be
within 2%;
INSTALLATION AND
NOTICE POINTS
Thoroughly inspect the pump before
installation, check the cable, plug
and appearance of pump, confirm
there is no problem with them and the
insulation resistance is above 50MΩ;
The pump must be equipped with
over-heat or over-current and
creepage protector, and the yellow-
green core with grounding mark
must be reliably grounded;
Try to run the pump to see if the
rotating is normal, but no more than
1 min, if the rotate direction different
with the red mark on pump, please
displace two of the three phases;
Fit the hose to hose coupling and
bind them tightly with hoop, and
then wrap a rope on the handle to
move the pump;
Never cut or press the cable, and
never use cable as rope, or pull it.
Lest break the cable and get an
electric shock;
The depth of pump in water must
be less than 5 meters, and avoid the
pump being get into mud. Please
put a metal basketry around the
pump to prevent the impeller from
being blocked by weeds. Notice
decline of the water level and the
pump must not be out of water
while running;
Never washing, swimming and let
livestock entering the water near the
pump during operating to prevent
from getting electrical stock;
If the pump is used far away from
power supply, thicken the cable to
insure acceptable working voltage;
If the pump start and stop
frequently, cut off power supply,
and check it. The problem must be
solved before using;
The pump should not run for a long
period of time since the engine can burn;
Always cut off the power before you
touch the pump, such as checking,
moving or dismantling to avoiding
accident.
MAINTENANCE
Check the insulation resistance of
motor winding terminals, if the value
is under 50MΩ, please dried it first;
After running 2000 hours, please
maintain the pump step by step as
below:
Dismantle: check wearing parts
such as ball bearing, mechanical
seal and impeller, and replace
defective parts;
Pressure test: after repairing or
changing mechanical seal, you must
have the pressure test to check the
reliability of sealing performance of
pump. Test pressure shall be 2 bar,
last for 3 minutes;
Exchanging oil: Unscrew oil-
filling plugs and replace with new
mechanical oil. total about 80%-
90% of seals chamber;
If the pump won't be used for a long
time, it shouldn't be under water. Put
the pump in clean water and run for
several minutes. Then remove hard
sediment inside and outside the pump
and dry it, coat with antirust oil and
put it in draughty room. After one
year's operation, you must repaint the
antirust lacquer if erode heavily.
