1 System Description
The entire system consists of instrument, power supply, foot switch and software. The in-
strument can be operated in horizontal or vertical orientation.
1. Connect power supply and foot switch to instrument.
2. Connect instrument with PC the USB cable type A - B.
3. Download and install "smart-chart" software.
4. Remove protective covers from clarity and haze port.
5. Turn instrument on with power switch.
6. Run initial configuration wizard: Select language, enter date / time and choose a
measurement method (ASTM Illuminant A, ASTM Illuminant C and or ISO).
7. A calibration is necessary at first startup. You will be guided by the instrument. For
manual calibration - recommended every two months - select Configuration > Cal-
ibration.
Connectors and power switch are placed on the rear side.

For haze-gard i pro only:
• Allow the instrument to warm up approx. 30 min. It is recommended to keep the in-
strument switched on over the night.
• Attach the black, magnetic cover to ensure the measurement port is in the shade.
NOTICE
Retain the packaging in case the instrument needs to be shipped.
